LPE TEST SYSTEM
Basic Description
The system provides an automated test facility for protection devices used by the military. It provides two main test options, the first is 100% "end of line" inspection of units from the production line, the second is sample batch testing of units in an environmental chamber supplied by Weiss Technik. The system used a suite of GPIB instrumentation and custom designed interface modules to perform the test schedule. The software was written in Visual Basic runnning under the Windows NT operating system.
MTC's Involvement
MTC was contracted to design, develop and build the system and test fixtures from a functional specification provided by Oxley Developments at Ulverston. All software, electronic, mechanical and PCB design work was performed in-house to a very tight timescale. Integration with the environmental chamber and commissioning was performed on the customers manufacturing site at Barrow-in-Furness.
